How Eternus Amici Classifies the Arts
All magick is neutral, there is no such thing as a black or white magick. And this applies to Spirits as well. I hate that people think that because a Spirit is considered a BA (Black Art) they automatically assume that they are bad. Because a lot of the definitions out there of the Black Art Spirits are that they are all considered under that, because they are incapable of benevolence… Say what? O_o That’s my reaction. I have a few spirits that can be considered Black Arts, but they all can work with White Arts, and do healing as well. Black Arts, the reason I label them Black is simply this.
It’s a moral code than just evil. We forget that spirits are JUST LIKE US. They have a free will and personality. Even the most Evil spirit can love and feel kindness (if it’s to its lover).
White Art-
I think that we need to examine that all spirits are capable of love or kindness, so therefore the Black and White should be considered upon the beliefs and actions of a Spirit. So A White Art would not only be the type of energy that they do, but the actions and beliefs (moral code) that a spirit has.
Meaning that they would use healing energy, light energy to heal or teach. However, but also that they have the belief or moral to harm no, no matter the offense. (Many of my WA are sickened by the thought of harming another, even in defense). So it’s extreme circumstance and beliefs that they would be placed here.
Grey Arts-
This deals with both White and Dark Arts. It employs both of them. In my opinion, I believe the the moral code of spirits within this are along the lines of: I will not harm another, unless it is under my defense of another or myself.
Dark Arts-
There are so many different levels of this, that it would be hard to really grasp all of them here. Since, everything can be within this category. So overall, just straight and simple. I would say that the main cluster of them range from being okay with having to defend, but still feel that remorse of having to do so. To just not really minding being the forefront of the defense. So I would say it’s based upon remorse. At least, that is for the moral aspect of it.
The magic of it would also be the same. Like, dealing with curses, hexes, things that can cause harm. They are classified as such. So a Spirit of that classification would depend upon how dark they are willing to go on the curses or hexes. That’s up to their discretion.
Black Arts-
And the part that I am really wishing to get to. So why must Black constitute as evil? Because it’s Black? or because of who practices it? In all honesty, the stereotype of BLACK arts and magick is just plain annoying. Not everything with black is evil.
To be honest, Black just means that it’s Dangerous. it’s not for the faint of heart. It’s something that experienced people should work with and handle. Being BA and doing BA is a different thing.
Being BA:
Frankly, it’s the moral aspect of it as well as the magick part. The moral is just that they feel that they would attack or kill any threat to their loved ones, feel no remorse for protecting others. Yet, they are capable of love to the ones they care for. Wouldn’t anyone be willing to protect their family to that degree if they were threatened?
The magic part is more.. that it’s chaotic, extremely dangerous. For example.. Void Energy and Chaos. It’s dangerous as hell and not for those that are just starting out. Or even those that are experienced. It’s not something that should be taken lightly.
Practicing BA:
Mainly working with that energy or magick. It’s not moral code, because they could be a DA and love deeply or hate to hurt, just that they are considered BA because of their work with it. Not that they are DA. if that made sense. A DA spirit with a BA skillset.
It may be unpopular, but at least you will understand how we believe it should be done, and not on the premises that they are just. EVIL.. but something deeper than that.
